Read your article on the Sotomayer nomination, Daniel. The whole notion of 'Hispanic' is so recent that Benjamin Cardozo (appointed by Hoover, 1932) is not considered the first Hispanic Supreme Court justice, but is only seen as 'the second Jew.' If Sotomayer is seen as the 'third woman,' perhaps we should add, 'and the SECOND Hispanic'... What do you think?
