I read an article in the 48 volume, number1, in English Teaching Forum by Alice Murry on " Empowering Teachers through Professional Development."
Teachers are responsible for the academic enrichment of the students. In any language, race or culture. Etiquette starts with grandparents and parents. To prepare the innocent child for adulthood. To teach and model, tolerance, manners, respect for self and others. Most important teachings, diversity training and multicultural competence, which includes courtesies for human beings with disabilities.
These redimentary teachings must first start from home, in early childhood. The grandparents and parents can not teach etiquette, diversity and multicultural competence, if it is lacking in themselves. The prospective candidates with these rudimentary teachings, makes it easier on the Employer, to enforce business etiquette, diversity and multicultural competence in the workplace, for a culturally rich work enviroment.
Do you believe that rudimentary teachings on etiquette, diversity, and multicultural competence, should start from home in early childhood?
