I read a piece from an ABC Business News Unit yesterday evening discussing the prices between black and white Barbie dolls at Walmart. Apparently the black Teresa doll was on sale for $3 while its identical - except for skin color - white counterpart remained $5.93.
When there are so many other juicy diversity topics to discuss - the impact of microinequities on minorities in the workplace or the continued use of numbers/representation instead of more substantive, strategic diversity activity to create sustainable, bottom line impacting change - why do little stories like these still get top news coverage?
